Dearly beloved in Christ
I thank the almighty God for showering his grace and blessings and provide all the good opportunities to stay blessed in 2021. By the grace of God almighty, and through the directive of our Diocesan Metropolitan vide circular no 66/2022, I have been entrusted to be the vicar of the Mysore St. Gregorios Orthodox Syrian church. I take this opportunity to address all the parishioners to have their continuous support and participation in the pleasant running of our church. Let us use every opportunity to remember those loved ones around us suffering from sickness and sorrow. Bring their needs to the throne of grace, who can heal and wipe away the tears. I will try my level best to make myself available to engage in all church activities. The scripture reminds us “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mathew 20:28). I am here not to be served but to serve all of you. Let us all possess the following three most important aspects that needs to be inculcated in our lives. Faith, Hope and Love. Faith makes everything possible. Hope makes everything work. Love makes everything beautiful. May all of us have these above three aspects and even more for every moment of everyday of every month of our lives. Humble yourselves under the mighty hands of God (1 peter 5: 6-11). Here the foremost factor of Christian gathering is to be humble before God and be human. The greatness of human being is to be humble in front of God. Humility itself has a very deep meaning both in thoughts and deeds. Humility shows our identity and being. Humility in simple words is mutual acceptance and submission. We all have physical and spiritual infirmities and God knows that we fail but let’s hope for better years to come in future than last, a better commitment than last and a better witness than last. We do not know what the future holds for us. But we are sure that our saviour Jesus Christ holds the future; Lord Jesus Christ. This conviction is our hope for upcoming years.
